During discussions in Beijing with Jordan’s King Abdullah II, Chinese President Xi Jinping reiterated China’s commitment to a two-state solution for the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Xi emphasized the importance of resuming peace talks and called for the swift establishment of an independent Palestinian state. He also highlighted the necessity for a comprehensive ceasefire, civilian protection, sustained humanitarian aid, and a political resolution grounded in international law.
Xi stressed the principle of Palestinian self-governance, including the management of the West Bank and the rebuilding of Gaza. This stance underscores China’s supportive position towards Palestinian sovereignty as part of a broader diplomatic effort to address long-standing regional tensions.
In addition to the Israeli-Palestinian issue, the two leaders explored ways to enhance the strategic partnership between China and Jordan. They expressed mutual interest in bolstering cooperation across various sectors, including trade, infrastructure, transportation, digital technology, artificial intelligence, and green energy.
As a result of their discussions, several cooperation agreements were signed, marking a step forward in strengthening bilateral ties. These agreements are expected to facilitate collaboration and development in multiple domains, reflecting a shared vision for future growth and stability.
