Oman and Tanzania are actively working to enhance their trade and investment ties, exploring new avenues for business partnerships. A delegation from Oman’s Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion recently visited Tanzania to meet with government officials, economic institutions, and local business leaders. The discussions centered on expanding economic relations, identifying potential investment opportunities, and fostering private-sector collaborations.
Ibtisam Ahmed Al Farooji, Undersecretary of the Ministry for Investment Promotion, emphasized the importance of Tanzania as a key economic partner for Oman in East Africa. She highlighted the interest in expanding cooperation in areas with significant investment potential. During the meetings, Oman showcased its strategic geographical location, robust infrastructure, and attractive investment incentives, such as the Golden Residency Programme, as appealing factors for international investors seeking long-term business partnerships.
The discussions also focused on facilitating the expansion of Omani companies into African markets and connecting Tanzanian businesses with investment prospects in Oman. Both sides stressed the need for stronger communication between government entities and private-sector representatives to successfully develop joint projects.
This visit is a part of Oman’s broader strategy to extend its economic partnerships across Africa, leveraging its longstanding relationship with Tanzania. The goal is to create mutually beneficial partnerships that can stimulate economic growth and development in both nations.
