Oman’s Minister of Heritage and Tourism, Sayyid Ibrahim Said Al Busaidi, recently embarked on a mission to Italy to explore potential collaborations in tourism development and heritage preservation. The visit aimed to tap into Italian expertise to enhance Oman’s tourism offerings and cultural exchange initiatives.
During his trip, Al Busaidi engaged with representatives from the Italian Alpine Club and Renco Company. These discussions focused on leveraging Italian skills in trail development and related services to diversify Oman’s mountain and adventure tourism. The intention is to draw on Italy’s well-established reputation in these areas to create new opportunities for tourists in Oman.
Al Busaidi also visited the Colosseum Archaeological Park, where he met with management to learn about archaeological site preservation and heritage management. Both sides discussed the exchange of expertise and developing professional capabilities to improve visitor experiences and safeguard cultural sites.
Furthering efforts to boost Oman’s global tourism profile, Al Busaidi met with representatives from Inter Milan. The discussions centered around sports tourism and showcasing Oman’s attractions to international audiences through potential collaborations with the football club.
The visit included presentations on the Italian tourism market, highlighting opportunities for Oman to strengthen its presence and appeal to Italian tourists. Meetings with local media aimed to promote Oman’s rich cultural heritage, historical sites, and diverse tourism experiences.
This initiative is part of Oman’s broader strategy to expand international partnerships, attract visitors from target markets, and utilize global expertise to develop its tourism industry while protecting its cultural heritage.
