Oman and the United States are exploring ways to enhance their economic and investment collaboration, focusing on expanding trade, boosting Omani exports, and drawing in American investments. This initiative was the central theme of discussions between Oman’s Minister of Economy, Dr. Khamis Saif Al Jabri, and representatives from the Oman Trade Office in the United States during their recent visit to Oman.
The discussions delved into the achievements of the Oman Trade Office, outlining future strategies, identifying challenges, and pinpointing opportunities to deepen economic ties between the two nations. A key aspect of the talks was increasing access for Omani products in the U.S. market and identifying avenues to attract American investments to Oman.
Trade statistics underscore the importance of these discussions, with bilateral trade between Oman and the United States reaching approximately 555.26 million Omani Rials by the end of July 2026. Among Oman’s significant exports to the U.S. are chemicals and aluminium, while the U.S. primarily exports vehicles and transport equipment to Oman.
The meeting signifies a mutual interest in fostering economic growth through strengthened trade relations and investment opportunities. Both nations are looking to develop new areas of trade cooperation that could further benefit their economies.
