The State Financial and Administrative Audit Authority of Oman took part in the 27th meeting of Deputy Heads of GCC Audit and Accounting Institutions, conducted through videoconference. This gathering included discussions on several key initiatives, highlighting the region’s commitment to enhancing auditing and accounting practices among GCC countries.
A significant point of discussion was the preparation for the 7th GCC Competition for Research and Studies in Auditing and Accounting. This competition aims to foster innovation and excellence in the field. Additionally, a proposal was put forth to create an AI-powered platform to streamline and consolidate the committee’s work and outcomes, a move that could significantly enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of regional audit activities.
The meeting also involved a review of recommendations from previous research competitions, ensuring that past insights and learnings inform future practices. Furthermore, the participants deliberated over the training programs scheduled for 2025 and 2026, demonstrating a forward-thinking approach to capacity building in auditing and accounting sectors.
In addition to these discussions, officials examined the agenda for the forthcoming meeting of GCC audit institution heads. This agenda will guide future collaborations and initiatives aimed at strengthening regional cooperation in public auditing and financial oversight. Plans for the upcoming GCC Financial and Administrative Audit Week were also on the table, underscoring the ongoing efforts to enhance transparency and accountability within the region.
